September Reflections

It is the October long weekend! It always seems like such a long time between the public holidays of Easter and Anzac day and then waiting for October, but it is here already. Before we know it, I will be writing a Christmas post!

September was an awesome month. I went to Bali for the first time. I totally fell in love with the east side of Bali in particular, and didn’t experience any of the things I thought I would, in terms of Bogans. I went on a fabulous retreat, came back feeling more relaxed and well than I have in years and made some new friends. The week really revamped my love of yoga. It has set me on the way for summer, going back to F45, following Michelle Bridges 12 week body transformation, and looking after myself more. I have put on 7 kilos over the last few years it is time to boot it. More about that on fitness Friday.

The Ginger Hunk’s knee is on the mend, and finally the last two years of hell is about to be over. He has booked in to get his hip resurfaced in December. This will be a bummer for our summer but we both absolutely can’t wait for him to have a new hip. We can get back to the things we love doing together, like snowboarding and hiking, which have been on the back burner for many years now.

Running season is over, and I was a bit bummed that I didn’t finish my half marathon. I had delayed Bali belly and was on the toilet for most of the week before the race, taking immodium to get through. On the day, I felt queasy and sweaty, so I ran 14km with my team then opted to join the cheer squad. It was actually a lot of fun (the team captain and mentor were also sick), and so we cheered our little lungs out. It is always such a buzz to see people crossing the line for the first time and the joy on their faces.

I have sold my bike and the money is put aside to buy a stand up paddleboard. I think this is going to be my summer goal.

On the reading front, I finished Arianna Huffington’s book, Thrive, and would recommend this to anyone looking to get in touch with their intuition, what Arianna calls “the third metric.”

I will be writing a post on these tips from the book in the next few weeks so stay tuned.

This weekend it’s off to Lennox Head to relax with some old school mates.

How was your September?

Anything exciting happen?

Any plans for the long weekend?
