As the sun sets on Christmas eve 2016, I’m sitting here with a beer, kids are playing cricket in the park next door, the neighbour is singing along to Johnny Cash while my Pavlova is cooling in the oven. (No photo yet, as a food blogger I am not.) It is definitely Christmas, and I for one am thankful that 2016 is coming to an end. It has been a hard year for a lot of people, not just us, but somehow I have come out the other end truly grateful for my lot in life. I’ve made some fabulous new friends, learned to take care of myself in recent months through meditation and better eating and have a rock solid marriage. I may not have a huge house or tons of money but I feel very rich right now, with a lot of great experiences to look forward to in 2017.
I also wanted to say thank you to all my readers who continue to support my little piece of the internet. I hope you continue to get something out of My Meow as I try to share my learnings and experience navigating this messy life we have, whether it be through travel, health, working through anxiety or just having a good old random rant.
What blogging has allowed me to see is that we are all in this mess and wonder together.
I hope you all have a wonderful day tomorrow with family and friends, and I recognise that Christmas can be hard for some.
If that is you, then it is just one day.
Much Love and Merry Christmas,
Ashleigh , Sasha, Piper and The Ginger Hunk
