August Reflections (and Away I Go)

Major alert. In August there has been movement at the DVA station. I don’t write about it much here, but the husband has not worked for 7 months and is awaiting a series of Veterans Affairs claims of sorts. We have had movement and some resolution in June. The stress it has put on us has been indescribable. I was thankful we had savings to get us through but the relief… ohhh the relief… and this means we can move forward with getting the right assistance. (Watch this space for a healthy happy Ginger Hunk come summer.)

August was a strange month. I was sick for the most part and still have a cough now.  The flu, a sinus infection, an ear infection and now a residual cough. I had to seriously re-think my plans for what I was going to do fitness wise, cancel my trail run, bunk down and re-group my immune system. So no trail run for me until the end of October. I actually have not exercised for about five weeks, aside from the rough long walk.

I pulled my health together to attend two weddings in August, one of a couple who had been together for ten years, another a year and a half. Both beautiful and also a great opportunity to catch up with old friends. I died my hair pink, and reflected that having pink hair, was one of many things I thought I would never do! Spring has come around so fast, and tomorrow I am up and away to Vietnam with my sister for her fabulous forty birthday! Going away with my Dad in June, I reflected on the benefits of travelling with your family as adults. Bring on sister bonding, rest, relaxation, rejuvenation, and healthy food. Oh and a couple of articles for Luxurious Magazine of course.

Stay tuned for a travel giveaway next week as well!

How was the month of August for you?

Happy about Spring?

Linking up with Sanch, for The Month That Was.

Much Love, Ashleigh
